QA Engineer – German Energy Market (m/f/d)

Your mission

We are developing a SAP-based billing platform for the German energy market, supporting business-critical processes in an increasingly complex and highly regulated environment.

 As the complexity of energy-market processes, integrations and regulatory requirements continues to grow, our goal is to deliver new functionality quickly, reliably and with a consistently high level of quality. As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in making this possible. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements and solution design through implementation, testing and release, helping ensure that our platform is stable, reliable and fit for the demanding requirements of the German energy market.

You will

  • Contribute to quality assurance throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to release
  • Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases
  • Create, maintain and continuously improve test plans, test cases and testing documentation
  • Perform functional, regression, integration and end-to-end (E2E) testing
  • Execute tests systematically and analyse test results to identify deviations, risks and potential quality issues
  • ICollaborate closely with developers and analysts in international, cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to improving test coverage, test processes and overall quality assurance practices
  • Support the continuous improvement and automation of testing activities
  • Help establish and promote a quality-first mindset across the development team
  • Take ownership of assigned testing activities and proactively identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency

What makes you successful in this role

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with a genuine passion for software quality and a structured approach to testing.

You bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Very good command of German, both written and spoken
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured, systematic approach to work
  • Good understanding of software development processes and the software development lifecycle
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a desire to continuously learn and grow

The following experience is a strong advantage

  • Previous experience with SAP R/3 or SAP S/4HANA, ideally in a testing or quality assurance context
  • Previous experience in the German energy market, including experience with energy suppliers, grid operators, billing systems or related business processes
  • Experience with test automation or a willingness to develop automation skills
  • ISTQB certification or comparable formal training in software testing
  • Experience with API, integration or end-to-end testing
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
